Hi!  My name is Trooper and I am a lab/retriever mix. I have joined the Hospice Orillia team after completing two years of training through the COPE Service Dog program. I am excited to be working with both the Volunteer Visitors program and the Bereavement Services programs.

Many people ask my handlers what a Facilities Dog is. Here is a quick excerpt from the COPE Service Dog website:
COPE dogs can be partnered with a teacher, counselor, health care worker, social worker or health professional for the purpose of providing social interaction, therapeutic intervention and canine assisted education for many different people. The dog accompanies his/her partner at work in order to augment their regular educational, social or therapeutic practices.
Feel free to take a peek at some photo’s below; don’t mind my puppy photo’s, I blush every time i see them!
Thanks for stopping by!!
Your friend,
Trooper

Dear Tanya,

Thank you for taking such good care of me. I really loved being a part of your family and getting to know Granite and Carl. I will miss all the fun times we had together. Know that I think of you often and I will always have a special place in my heart for you all.

Love your furry friend,

Trooper
