Families and friends of loved ones who are no longer with us will have an opportunity to honour their memories collectively while staying safely apart.

With mandated physical distancing measures remaining firmly in place for the foreseeable future, Hospice Orillia is moving its annual “Gardens of Remembrance” event online.

“The piece that’s missing is people coming together, but we hope that we can still deliver a meaningful service virtually,” said Louise Brazier, the organization’s bereavement services co-ordinator.

Traditionally held at Couchiching Beach Park, the event features live music and poetry readings, with participants provided an opportunity to plant flowers in memory of loved ones.
